Shining in the Skin I'm In

So, I did a thing...

As a woman and as an aspiring model, swimsuit season can feel daunting. No matter your age, shape, or size, it seems that people let out a collective sigh when the weather starts warming up and it's time to shed those comfy layers. I firmly believe that everyone's body is a beach body, but it is still sometimes difficult to have that confidence within oneself.

Well, after being invited to do a beach shoot, I must say that I am proud of myself for working up the courage to not only wear a bikini at the beach (I've usually always worn some type of cover-up) but to also be photographed in it! Even though I am categorized as petite, I struggle with feeling confident with my gait, my quirky belly button, and my surgery scars among other things. Add all that on top of needing to keep my footing while the crashing waves shifted the sand beneath my feet. Luckily, my small team of supporters gave me a confidence boost, and the photographer I worked with kept things professional, comfortable, and most importantly, FUN!

Not only did I have a great time doing this shoot, but I was so happy with how lovely the photos turned out Shout out to the photographer, Jon! These photos are a reminder for me to push through the nerves, give myself more credit, and to just go for it! I'm so glad I did!
